La Mesa Village
Downtown along La Mesa Boulevard has older storefronts and houses, and a historic main street character. Window style on a visible elevation can be a design question as well as a building question.
Grossmont and the center of town
Mid century houses, stucco, and west facing glass. Single pane aluminum is common. Truck access is usually easier than in the village, and the sun is not.
Mount Helix and Lake Murray edges
The slopes toward Mount Helix and the Lake Murray side mix La Mesa, San Diego, and county parcels. Confirm the city before you file. A view lot can also mean a bigger wind and a heavier window.
